FAQ

For players on the course and for whoever is running the outing. It works for any group outing: charity and fundraiser events, corporate and client outings, club member events, and golf trips with friends.

Do players need to download an app?

No. It is a web page that opens in the phone's browser from a link or a QR code. Nothing to install and no account to make.

How does my team enter scores?

Each team has a short join code. Scan the QR on your cart sign, or open the live event and type the code once on My Team. The phone remembers it. Then tap your card and use the big plus and minus buttons for the team's best-ball score on each hole.

What if our scorer's phone dies?

Any teammate can open the event and enter the same join code. Scores are saved on the server as they are tapped in, so the card picks up where it left off. The organizer can also look up or replace a team's code in Admin.

Can another team change our score?

No. Without your code, your card is read-only on their phone, and the server turns down edits that do not carry the code. Codes are not shown on the public leaderboard. Once the organizer marks results final, every card is locked.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

By total score relative to par for the holes each team has played, shown like −6, E, or +2, with how far they are through the round (Thru 12, or F when finished). Equal scores show as ties, such as T2. Teams that have not started are listed at the bottom.

How often does it update?

Every open phone checks for new scores about every 4 seconds. The clubhouse TV screen refreshes on its own every few seconds too.

How do the photo contests and voting work?

Teams upload photos for Longest Drive placard, Longest Putt placard, Best Shoes, Best Outfit, and Funniest Team Photo. Photos are shrunk on the phone before upload, and everyone can browse the gallery by category. Players vote for Best Shoes, Best Outfit, and Funniest: one vote per phone per category, and you can change it. Longest Drive and Longest Putt are judged by the organizer, who can also close voting.

Are the photos family-friendly?

Yes. Every upload is checked automatically before it reaches the photo wall. Anything flagged, or anything the check cannot confirm, stays hidden and waits in Review photos in Admin until the organizer approves or deletes it; the team sees that it is waiting for approval. Organizers can hide any photo with one tap, and if two different people tap Report on a photo it is hidden until the organizer reviews it.

Which courses can we use?

The course directory lists 37 courses within 30 miles of East Moline, grouped by city. Any course there with a published scorecard can be set up as the event course (36 of the 37 right now). Nine-hole courses are played twice for 18. Registration only offers courses with a scorecard on file, because the live board needs every hole's par. If your course is not listed, choose Other on the inquiry form and tell us which one.

What does it cost?

$200 per tournament, flat. That covers live scoring and the leaderboard, team join codes and QR cart signs, photo contests and voting, sponsor placement, TV mode, announcements, final results with a scores CSV and photo download, and setting up your course. You pay it once, by card, at the end of registration on Stripe's secure checkout page. This site never sees or stores your card number.

How do I book an outing?

Register your tournament: organizer details, tournament name, course, date, start time, entry fee, format, expected teams, and which photo contests to run. Not ready to commit? Send the inquiry form instead; it saves your questions for review and does not take payment or send email.

What do I get when I register?

Your own tournament page at a unique link like /t/your-outing-ab12 with the course, address and directions, date, start time, entry fee, format, and payment status, plus a QR code for that link that you can download or print. You also get your own live event at that link: teams, join codes, leaderboard, scorecards, photos and voting, sponsors, announcements, TV mode, results, and cart signs, separate from every other tournament.

What is the organizer PIN?

It unlocks Admin for your tournament only. Pick one when you register, or leave it blank and one is made for you. It is shown once on the confirmation screen, so write it down. It does not work on the demo or on anyone else's tournament. If you lose it, the site admin can issue a new one.

Can I set up before paying?

Yes. An unpaid tournament is saved as Pending payment. You can open your page, print the QR code, add sponsors and announcements, and run a test with up to 3 teams. Once the $200 is paid, the team limit is lifted and the page shows Paid. If online payment is not available, the site admin can mark it paid.

Does the site collect player entry fees?

No. The entry fee you set (per player or per team) is shown on your tournament page so players know what to bring. You collect it your usual way. The only thing paid on this site is the $200 host fee.

Can sponsors be featured?

Yes. The organizer adds each sponsor's name and logo, with an optional link and an optional hole. A hole sponsor shows on that hole of every scorecard ("Hole 7 sponsored by …"). Sponsors also appear in a strip on the leaderboard and the homepage, and on the TV screen.

Can we show the leaderboard on a TV in the clubhouse?

Yes. Open the TV page on any screen with a browser. It rotates through leaderboard pages, the latest photos, announcements, and sponsors with large type and needs no one to touch it.

What happens after the last group finishes?

The organizer marks the results final. The results page then shows the top three teams, the contest winners, the final leaderboard, and photo highlights. The organizer can download all scores as a CSV file and all photos as a ZIP.

Is there a high-contrast mode for bright sun?

Yes. Open Menu and turn on Sun mode, or tap the Sun button on your scorecard. It switches to black on white with bigger, bolder text, and this phone remembers it.

What if we lose signal on the course?

Keep scoring. Each hole you enter is saved on the phone first, a "No signal — scores saved, will sync" bar appears, and the scores send on their own when the signal comes back. Closing the page does not lose them. Sending a hole twice never counts it twice.

Can we put our own logo and colors on the event?

Yes. In Admin, upload your logo and pick an accent color. They show on your tournament page, the live leaderboard and the clubhouse TV. The logo is resized on your phone before upload so it stays small.

How does a round work, step by step?

Create the team and add up to four players; that phone becomes the scorer. Enter the best ball hole by hole with the big plus and minus buttons, swiping between holes. Every phone on the link sees the board move, with arrows when a team climbs or drops. Tap any team for its full card.
